Asr Malik, the husband of Pakistani student and social activist Malala Yousafzai, who won the Nobel Peace Prize, has got his first message on social media after his marriage.
It may be recalled that Malala Yousafzai had tied the knot yesterday. Malala shared photos of her marriage on Twitter in which she termed this day as the most precious day of her life.
Malala Yousafzai is married to Asr Malik, who holds the position of General Manager Operations at the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) High-Performance Center.
Asr Malik is a graduate of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and is one of the able officers of PCB. Asr Malik has also been General Manager Operations in PSL Franchise Multan Sultans.
A picture has been posted on Twitter by Asr Malik in which he and Malala are cutting a cake in celebration of their marriage.
Asr Malik said, "I have found Malala to be a very supportive friend. I have found a beautiful and kind companion in the form of Malala with whom I am very excited to spend the rest of my life."
Asr Malik thanked everyone for the good wishes from the customers for the marriage and wrote at the end that "following the tradition of our cricket team, we also had to cut the cake on our success".
According to senior sports journalist Abdul Majeed Bhatti, Malala and Asr Malik met two years ago in Birmingham during the Pakistan-New Zealand match.
Abdul Majid Bhatti said that Malala Yousafzai is very fond of cricket and she was present in the stadium during the Pakistan-England match in Birmingham.
