The Taliban government abolished the Election Commission of Afghanistan.
According to the foreign news agency, Bilal Karimi, the deputy spokesman of the Afghan government, confirmed the abolition of the Independent Election Commission of Afghanistan and said that there is no need for the Afghan Election Commission yet.
He said that if need be, the Election Commission would be reconstituted.
Aurangzeb, head of the Independent Election Commission of Afghanistan dissolved by the Taliban, said that the Taliban had acted hastily in disbanding the Election Commission, a move that would have serious consequences.
He said that Independent Election Commission and Independent Electoral Complaints Commission were working for holding elections in Afghanistan.
